The Family Services Department brings together four family focussed support services:

This is a non-clinical area of the hospital provided for families and caregivers of inpatients and outpatients. It provides a quiet, friendly, relaxing retreat for families within the hospital.

The Centre provides information and advice on safety promotion and injury prevention.
Our services include a wide range of resources and education programs to support parents, caregivers and the broader community.

This Centre provides a wide range of services including information and support group details for many childhood diseases and chronic illnesses. Parenting books, medical texts and safety products are available for sale or by mail order.

This service has been operating since 1961 and aims to support and assist in the care of sick and injured children and their families while they are attending The Royal Children's Hospital.

There is a changing patient profile, a trend that can be expected to continue significantly and to impact on the increasing demand for family support services. The Family Services Department aims to meet this need in varying ways focused on family centred care and family support.
Our Department caters to the needs of many families both within the Hospital as well as those in the broader community.
